Title of Speech: Molecular Breeding for Better Wood Quality - Bridging Basic Science to Practical Application
Prof. Meng-Zhu Lu He is vice director of Research Institute of Forestry, Chinese Academy of Forestry. His research activity is mainly focused on the molecular mechanisms of wood formation and the breeding of wood quality through genetic engineering. He has got his Ph.D in Molecular Genetics, Department of Forest Genetics and Plant Physiology, The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Sweden in 1997, since then he has finished 6 major national projects, published more than 80 scientific papers and obtained 4 patent approvals. He was awarded as the national outstanding young scientist in 2006 and selected for the National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project in 2014 and National Ten Thousand Talent Project in 2016.
